Vance 1901 Census
« on: Friday 05 February 10 17:52 GMT (UK) »
Harry Vance, s/o John, born in West Virginia, USA, 1886, was sent to Derry to live with an uncle after his father's death in 1897.  This uncle could be VANCE or GRAHAM (mother Maria Graham).  Harry returned to US 1903, age 16, a month before his 17th birthday.

Finding Harry in the 1901 census is the only hope I have of finding the place of his ancestors

I will be grateful for any information of advice.

1911 Irish census is now online and 1901 census should soon be added to the site- until then it's available in a few places like PRONI in Belfast, some LDS libraries, Dublin and a few other places in Ireland (such as Ballymena Library) but is not indexed.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
