Lichfield Industrial School
« on: Thursday 04 February 10 16:55 GMT (UK) »
Hello ,
I have just found out that my uncle was in the Lichfield Industrial School prior to being admitted to Adel Reform School in 1911.  I found him on the 1911 Census in the Adel Reform School.
I was able to obtain his report whilst he was there and this states he was in the Lichfield School previously.
I do not know when he was in there but he was born Jarvis Gardiner in Hull in 1895.  His parents were James Robert Gardiner and Jane Ann Elizabeth Gardiner.
I can only find a Lichfield Industrial School for Girls on the internet.
Any suggestions please.

Hi, I have just come across your post with reference to The Midlands Industrial and Truant School, Beacon Road, Lichfield.  My grandfather was in this school in the 1911 census.  I have been trying for two years to try and trace the records and they seemed to have disappeared.  Did you have any luck in finding the records?

On Wednesday July 30th 1919 Roll of honour memorial was unveiled at the Midland Industrial School by Dr Norris of the Home Office. A mural tablet supported by two columns was handmade by Bridgemans and commemorated 1033 boys of the Army and Navy.
