1861 Census Look Up TURNOCK ashton under lyne
« on: Thursday 17 March 05 18:33 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Iam looking for the following family on the 1861 census.
They seem to have moved around a bit but according to the 1871 Census
Benjamin TURNOCK was aged 57 and a Methodist Preacher born in Macclesfield.
wife Elizabeth was aged 55 and born in Wigan
children Sarah aged 25 born Sheffield
Charlotte aged 23 born Huddersfield
William aged 18 born Ashton.
In 1871 they were living in Craddock Street, Ashton Under Lyne, they also may have had another son Benjamin born ca 1843 in Dudley.

Many thanks
Chalfontcrew

Hi

Benjamin turnock was in belfast when the 1861 census took place.
He was minister at the Salem Chapel on the junction of York Street and Great George STREET.

Cheers

Hi
In case you don't already have this information

William Turnock's birth was registered in 1851 Ashton Town and his mother's maiden name was given as Berkley.
