is that not just Southampton Street Directories?
I used to work for a waterboard (1st job infact) they use Kellys directories all the time.
They contain information on the owners of properties (if landlords) and who is living in them,
that is how a friend of mine tracked down my husband (before we married obviously) They even used to say unoccupied.  You would be sent a new one every year for each area.
Does that answer your question?

Hello Marcie,  Thanks for your suggestion. The address was 'Woodside' at Hilltop in Beaulieu.  Deoxy  :)
Have you tried doing a search for just the address.  This is something I know you can do, but do not know how you do it.  If you go into the area on How To which I think is in the General Section it would tell you, or you can ask and one of the Mods such as Berlin-bob might assist.

Hello, Thanks for the help. The 'plimsoll' link gives a lot of interesting information but I can't find the address I was looking for.  However. I have seen bits of the directories on the net but without the dates. Now I can access it properly through the link and follow the addresses of my birth family on my mother's side.  I'm related to all the Frecknall's as my gg grandfather brought the name to Lymington from Nottingham in the 1860's.  I'll give the general secion on here a try as suggested. Thanks again.  :)

Some of the best Reference Libraries have Kellys Directories going back over years back to when they first appeared.  If this does not help but you know his trade, there are also trade directories which exist going back even further.  Or you can try the local parish councils for their enrolment lists etc.
