I have now found the marriage of Wiliam's parents, William and Elizabeth Ginesby in 1788 Blofield , but cannot not find their births.

Hi Yvonne.  You don't own a Herbert Ellis born 1874, Blofield, do you?  He married a niece of my great grandfather.

I have not found a Herbert, but they were a large family so may be connected.

Have you tried the new Family Search site http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch?

If you use the browse option you will find the Norfolk PR's, as far as Blofield is concerned you will see that as well as the registers there is also "Indexes" for the different periodsyou will find that these are very thorough and after checking it should make your searches through the registers a lot quicker.

As my early ancestors are from Blofield I regularly search the site and have found entries for your William and a later William baptised 1807 together with a list of the Ellises born to William and Elizabeth, the marriage and burials are also there. Obviously the rector could see that Family History was going to be big in the future, I haven't seen any other indexes for the other areas I'm checking.
