Stowells Memorial Parish
« on: Wednesday 27 January 10 22:50 GMT (UK) »
Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone is able to work their magic and shed some light on the  above!!

I have just recieved a marriage certificate for William Norbury and Emma Oates in 1890, they were married in the parish of St Simon, Salford. However, on the certificate William's residence at the time of the marriage is down as Stowells Memorial Parish!!

Now, i have searched this and have found information on the church, i know where it is and drive past it quite regularly, yet i am at a loss to see where/how he would be living there. I can't find any info for any houses, just the church and the Stowell family.

William did eventually own a cab business, which was a family business, and is documented as a Coachman and a widower at the time of the marriage. The cab business was on Trafford Road which was not far from this church!!

Please Help!!
