this looks like John in 1841
Sparrow Hill (thanks to Brie for deciphering address)
Loughborough
Leics
James Cartwright 35 Farmer
Rebecca 35
James 15
Elizabeth 14
William 12
John 10
Ambrose 3
Richard 1
Ann Unwin FS 12

all b in county
HO107 595 34 4

so it looks like you have the correct family

as brie has posted 1841 census is different to other census in that ages of adults 15 yrs plus are rounded down to the nearest 5 years -so an age given as 15yrs indicates that person was age 15-19 yrs.
Also p.o.b. aren't given -just "yes" or "no" in answer to the question whether they were born in the county they were living in.
Relationships are not given either.

I queried when they emigrated as James was born 12 April 1851 and baptised Mar 1853

There are no records on IGI of John and Eliza having more children baptised in Loughborough

There is no record of a birth reg 1852-1860 for Elizabeth Hannah

I don't have access to records but some RootsChatters do, so it may be worth asking for emigration records to find the year they did leave

Hi Suz and Kerry,

The address on the 1841 census is Sparrow Hill. This is in the old part of Loughborough. The Parish Church is on it along with a couple of the oldest buildings in Loughborough.

Hi Suz and Brie,

Your blood's worth bottling!
Thank you so much.
I will go onto the free bdm site, thanks Brie.
There is so much for me to learn. They say you should try and learn one new thing each day - I think I am learning way too much ;) ;)

Cheers
Kerry

Dear Kerry,
I believe that I am related to the John and Eliza Cartwright
of your posting, being a great great grandson of John's brother William
Ambrose Cartwright (the William in the 1841 census household posted by
Suz). I have a great deal of information on this family, which I would
be happy to share with you.

John and Eliza had various children in Australia, including an Elizabeth
Hannah, who married Francis Lewis SMITH in 1875. Perhaps that is where
you fit in, Kerry, in which case we are very distant relatives.

Some of the postings by you, Suz and Brie ask about John and Eliza
emigrating. I believe that they sailed to Australia on the "Earl
of Charlemont", which was wrecked on the coast of Victoria, Australia,
near Barwon Heads. There is a web page concerning this wreck at
http://www.zades.com.au/bellhs/shipcha1.html
This includes a list of passengers, including John and Eliza, and their
infant son James. The ship left Liverpool on March 13, 1853 (6 days after
James's baptism in Loughborough). Fortunately all aboard were rescued.
There are newspaper articles from the time describing the wreck and
the subsequent inquiry.

Regards,
Donald
