Hello Jennifer and thanks for joining in the hunt!  ;D

That looks very promising what you have found, in fact I would say it is spot on! The Polly mentioned is very much a mystery  ??? It does quite clearly say Polly as well, hmmm.

And guess what household is at the top of the same page...the McIntyre family Richard married into  :o Although Mary Ann the daughter he married isn't listed I'm sure that is them. Unbelievable, thank you  ;D

Hi again, thank you for the Polly information...I had no idea about this...looking at the Kinlins and McIntyres in the 1871 censuses it would appear there is a young child (William Kinlin, 3 months and Polly McIntyre, 2 years) in each household...seemingly a bit young to be the children of the householders as stated but more likely to be grandchildren perhaps?

I found Mary Ann McIntyre (Richard Kinlin's wife-to-be) in 1871, 3 pages before her family, lodging with the Davies family also in Union Cottages, listed as a hawker I think.

Lots more work to do, I need more coffee I think!  ;D

Thanks again, Em

Well, can I heck as like find any birth registrations for Richard b 1848 Manchester and his sisters Ann and Mary :'(. Any help welcomed  :)

Even going countrywide nothing obvious springs up with any of them. I thought I was going to have problems tracing the Kinlin family back to Ireland (which I wouldn't know where to start with) but I can't find any of their births on the mainland...is it possible they weren't registered?
