I wonder if there would be someone willing to go to Holy Cross Cemetery for you ?
Was that the only RAOGK volunteer for the area ?

The family has to pay for and write an obituary BUT there could be a funeral notice that the funeral home puts in the newspaper.   Sometimes harder to find and will be very short on details, however.

I agree with dettori,  see if someone can actual go to the cemetery.  You might have to wait for that --  if it is snowy and it is cold ---  they might not do visitations in winter!

Was this discussed previously ??   Have you contacted the local public library?  It's is often a 50/50 kind of thing --  especially with budget and staffing cuts now days BUT yesterday I was emailed by a librarian that she found an obit I requested in Nov/Dec and had put into the mail for me.    She had to put some extra effort into it as the date of death I had given her was off by 10 days.   So you never know!  At work now but if you don't have the link to the library from someone else by tonight,  I will find it for you.

Lisaam - not sure there is a library in  Philadelphia now. Just read some articles that said Philadelphia Free Library System was shutting down - dated 13 Sept 2009 - closing 2 Oct 2009.
Reading back through the posts  - was only able to find  a possible Anthony, sister and nephew on a 1920 Census for Luzerne. Pennysylvania.   Maybe looking in the wrong district for a death record !!
It was Holy Cross that told Leprechaun he was buried there and gave him a printout with the other members of the family.  ???

Hello dettori and Lissa.
This is what the lady said.
Unfortunately I could find no orbit for him.He either did not have one written
[ Many didn't,even though it was free at that time],or there was one written where he lived.
Well the only address will be on that 1920 census for that I am sure is him.
                                 Thankyou Both Lep :)

As I said in a reply further up the only address seems to be the 1920 one in Lucerne. How about requesting a copy of the death certificate from Pennsylvania Vital Records, you have a date of death or burial. Cost of copy seems to be $3.00 but they have the following criteria -
Access to death records in Pennsylvania is restricted to family members and legal representatives. With your request, include as much as you can of the following: the name on the death record being requested, date of death, place of death (city or county), your relationship to the person whose certificate is being requested, your purpose for needing the copy, your daytime telephone number with area code, your handwritten signature and complete return mailing address.

This is the only address I can find:-
Division of Vital Records
State Department of Health
Central Building
101 South Mercer Street, Room 401
P.O. Box 1528
New Castle, PA 16101
Phone: (724) 656-3100

The website is up -- didn't read all but there is  mention of  closing for some renovations ??  --  but they have information on helping Haiti -  so it's current  and there is a genealogy section.  I didn't click -- but see what they say!  Nothing to be lost except the time to send an email!

Don't think we are that bad off yet when the public library in a major city would close .....  YIKES!  Actually heard library attendance is up 'cause people are not buying so many books!

Thankyou dettori  I have all you have written.Would you be kind enough to look again at the 1920 census and see if there is a street name and number.Where Anthony and niece were living.
I feel awful asking when you have been so kind.
Both you and Lissa have gone out of your way. :)
