Don't know if this helps, but Grace Seggie maiden name Blair was married to Wilfred Seggie and lived in Saltcoats.  They had 2 daughters. Grace was born I believe around 17 June 1913. My husband is related to Grace rather than the Seggies but may be able to get more info if this is correct family.

Hi. Yes this is the correct relation.According to records past to me from Winnifred Seggie,Grace was born Grace Chalmers Blair July 3rd 1914,she died June 6th 1996.And yes they had 2 daughters Fiona Grace-- 17 June 1941-July 26 2000.Lilian Catherine born June 7th 1947- Dec 20 1974.Grace's husband John Wilfred Seggie Aug 20th 1912-June 21 1978,was my uncle his father William being the second brother to my Grandmother Rachel Seggie.I last saw Grace around 1995/6 when I visited with my son Iain,[having a visit home from USA with my Parents Jack and Mary Stewart.]
I have traced the Seggie line to 1797 W. Lothians

Lucky connection.  Seems like you already know all about the Seggies.  Actually Grace was friendly with my mother and pretty sure they shared the same birthdate - why I stabbed a guess at 17.06.1913.  Alswo she was my father-in-laws aunt. M

Grace was a lovely lady, did not have an easy life re: tragedies with daughters, but true to her name bore it with grace.I always enjoyed visiting with her. Not many Seggies still around sadly.
Were your Blairs connected to the AI buses? I seem to remember my father mentioning the name.

Yes, you are right about Grace. Life can be so very cruel. No connection with AI buses.  The Blairs came from Hamilton Motherwell Glasgow.  Annie Blair, Grace's older sister married David Pettigrew and they came to this area to work in the ICI factory in Stevenston. They were my husbands paternal grandparents.

Hi Sheena, Just found this message on the Seggies.  My Margaret Fisher married a William Seggie in 1842 in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, but ended up in Kilmaurs, Ayrshire. Their children were Christine, Agnes, Robert, Peter, William, Margaret, Mary and Isabella.
Do you have any links to this family, thanks Annie
