1841 Lookup - Robert Elliot (Calder Bridge)
« on: Wednesday 16 March 05 19:09 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I am trying to trace a Robert Elliot born in Calder Bridge in 1823/4, therefore age 18 or 19 in 1841.

He married in 1847 in Liverpool. His occupation was a Mariner.

Thanks
Ian

Calder Bridge is about 10 miles south of Whitehaven, near Sellafield

Robert's father was John Elliot, a Gardener. Does that help the search?

Hi Ian,
I looked at the surrounding towns/villages and can't find Calder Bridge at all. The only thing i can think of is it was missing from the original.
Sorry :'(

Just looking at a modern map - Egremont would seem to be the nearest larger town/village.
