There has always been a confusion between tracing the Living and the dead. Genealogy website trace ancestors not descendent's.There are special websites for tracing the living,to put it in a nutshell genealogy websites go up not down

Where is the best place to start when you don't have that much information to start off with
ie Name,place where they left to go to Australia. thats it

Hi again, ok, new to this, and can't find my way, how do I know if I've got a reply to my message? I just know I'm going to feel really daft (Scottish word) when I'm told how simple it is, saying sorry in advance. duh!

I knew the name of a second cousin and using Ancestry found her marriage and then children. Luckily through Genes I was able to find her and we are now in contact exchanging family news It was a lucky break through.
