Davidsons, Raffertys, Duncans from Aughnacoly Co Tyrone
« on: Saturday 23 January 10 11:45 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I am new to the board and I need some help. I am looking for the Davidson's my gr. grandmother Margaret Jane b abt 1869, (brothers) Thomas John b 1860 and Wallace b abt 1858, father Thomas Davidson, Mother unknown.

I am also looking for William James Rafferty b abt 1851 son of William Rafferty and Mary Hodge. William James Rafferty married Agnes Duncan daughter of James Duncan and Jane Johnston.

Margaret Jane, Thomas John and Wallace Davidson are cousins to William James Rafferty, may be through Mary Hodge or James Duncan.

Also Thomas John Davidson was born 4 Apr 1860 in Reskaterriff, Aughnacoly, Tyrone. Thomas John was baptised Protestant, Methodist.
Anyone who may know what churches Thomas John was baptised or where I can look to find out how their connected, please reply.

***I received some information that states Thomas J Davidson is a cousin to James Duncan.
James Duncan, b 1823 in Scotland married Jane Johnston 1846 Brantry Parish church. James Duncan's daughter Agnes Duncan married William James Rafferty.
James Duncan passsed away 1907 in Reskaterriff Aughnacoly.***

I would appreciate any information.  :)

Thank you

Am a bit puzzled as your 1st post says:
I am looking for the Davidson's my gr. grandmother Margaret Jane b abt 1869, (brothers) Thomas John b 1860 and Wallace b abt 1858, father Thomas Davidson, Mother unknown.
...
Margaret Jane, Thomas John and Wallace Davidson are cousins to William James Rafferty, may be through Mary Hodge or James Duncan.
I then searched and found the birth details of Margaret Jane with gave her mother as Sarah Hodge (which makes sense as you had a Mary Hodge as possible connection) and then kingkerswell searched and found the marriage of Thomas Davidson and Sally Hodge but now you say you already have the marriage  ???
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hello!

I’ve only just noticed your posts (just 10 years later !) and if you are still engaged with RootsChat.com and still compiling a blood-line from Margaret Jane Davidson, then I may well be able to contribute to your endeavours.
Her dates are:  1st March 1867 – 5th July 1930

You state that you are a great-grandchild of Margaret; well I am myself a grandchild ! That means we are directly related, just one generation apart.

Margaret Jane was, as far as can be ascertained, the only one of her family to marry and have children.

She married  Robert Hagan (1871 – 1908) and there were 6 children – all boys – only four surviving to adulthood.  Therefore the line from there is HAGAN for a further generation when,  through the marriages of two grand-daughters, the surnames THOMSON and PALMER are introduced.

I would be interested to know where you fit into the ‘tree’.

I have many photographs and birth/marriage/death records of the family  derived from Margaret Jane (Thomas Davidson & Sally Hodge) and would be pleased to share them if requested.

You don't say when and where they were married. Have you a source or a link to the marriage?

If his/her email hasn't changed, Go Leafs Go may receive a notification of your post and will hopefully return.
