Look Up Request: Gibson (Belfast to Toronto)
« on: Thursday 21 January 10 19:58 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for details of:

Alice Gibson (b1898)
Jane Eva Gibson (b1900)
Sarah Gibson(b1892)

They emigrated from Belfast I believe to Toronto Canada in 1917.

I havent access to the em/immigration records on Ancestry at present - so if someone could look it up or has further info I would be extremely grateful

Thanks in advance

I see the purpose of Debbie's question. There is a marriage in Toronto for a Sarah Gibson, 23, born Ireland, daughter of George Gibson and Alice Devilen who married William McKenna, 28, born Ireland, son of William McKenna and Rose Bradden on 22 May 1914 in Toronto.

I found a passenger list for an Alice Gibson, 20, who arrived in Quebec on the Melita on 12 Jun 1920. The passenger list indicates she was joining her sister, Mrs. McKenna in Toronto. The Form 30 she filled out indicates she was born in Belfast, was joining her sisters, Mrs. W. McKenna and Miss J. Gibson and her closest relative in the country she left behind was her brother, George Gibson of Belfast.

There is also a marriage for Alice Gibson, 24, born Ireland, daughter of George Gibson and Alice Devalin who married James Robertson McIntosh, 23, born Scotland, son of Hugh McIntosh and Maria Robertson on 4 Jun 1924 in Toronto.

That is fantastic, thank you so much.   The father was George Gibson, until now I was not sure of the mothers name but Devlin does tie up with some family paperwork.  Is there away of finding out when Sarah arrived?  Could  you forward the Docs if I pm my email?  Thanks again that's made my day!

PS Any pointers to Canadian reference sites welcome.
