Constance Williams.

Am looking for any information of Constance Ada Williams. I know she was born in March 1892 possibly in Canterbury.Her father was Alexander Williams-horse dealer.Her parents married in 1897. Ican't find her birth registration or any whereabouts of her before her marriage in 1916 to Frank Sayers in Frating,Essex.
I think her mother was Ada West.

If she was born 5 yrs before her paretns married it is highly possible she was registered in her mother surname

could be a possible, though not Canterbury and not quite the same name! So I wouldnt pursue that one at this stage.

Where did the info you have about her birth Month and year and place come from?

Have you got the family on 1901 census? I cant see them at all.

Nor can I see an Alex* Williams / Ada West marriage in 1897 ...

Birth dates info taken from her gravestone- birth place from her marriage cert. can't find them on 1901 census either.
Afraid I can't remember where I found the marriage from- possibly not the right info.

So where did she marry? English marriage certs dont give place of birth.

Definite info (as far as pos) then is-
Grave says she was called Constance Ada Sayer, and was born March 1892
Marriage cert to Frank Sayers in Essex (oh, that answers my question above!) says she said her dad was Alexander Williams Horse dealer (Hmm may have made that up for marriage, if she was illegit)

i have an Ada Williams born 1892 Canterbury in my tree,her father was Alexander Williams born 1867 Canterbury.
Mine married Martha Scamp on 26/02/1888 in Canterbury.
On the 1891 he is lodging with Martha and her family and is a dealer.Many of Marthas extended family were dealers and some were horse dealers.
Alexander is still married to Martha on 1911.

There is a second Alexander Williams born 1871 Canterbury.On the 1901 hes married to Ada(West) born 1873 Chatham.Her mother Elizabeth West is with them.This Alexander is a plumber.

I think the other Alexander is yours.

Hi Nel,
Back again. I have now got Ada's birth cert.It shows Father-Alexander Williams.Mother-Martha Williams formerly Scamp. Place - 9,Stour Street, Canterbury.
It still doesn't shed any light on why she married as Connie Ada and on her gravestone she is Constance Ada.
Perhaps you could let me view your tree through Genes Reunited and there may be some previous rellie with Constance somewhere.
If not a reply through roots would be great.
