Hi, Does anyone have any info on Gordon Lunnon who was a sea captain? There is some connection through his wife Lillian Gue to Michael Powell the Hollywood film director.
Any clever sleuths out there?
Thank you

Hi- That was quick- I am impressed!!!

Not much on him except he was a sea captain before the first world war- we have his sea chest with postcards in written from Burma to home.
Lillian Gue from Andover in Hampshire married an A. Lunnon- will check the dates and get back to you.
It is rumoured that somewhere here- either Lillian been married before or on the Lunnon side, there is the brother of Michael Latham Powell the Hollywood film director. He went out with Deborah Kerr at one time.
Sorry this is a bit hazy but I will get the dates for Lillan to you.

Hi caefai,

You are probably aware your posting is on the Australian board..

You have not told us any reason you have for suspecting an Australian connection.

The Hollywood connection does not seem relevant at this point. ;D

Hi Tisha,
Many thanks for your help. It is much appreciated.

Sue- the Hollywood connection is of interest as I am writing a piece for a prominant magazine  in the U.K who is interested in the family.

As you are aware genealogists find relatives all over the World in their research , we have family all over the World.

Hi, came up with Lillian Gue born 1884 Hampshire U.K
Married a Lunnon and had George who married Anne Macintosh. George died however leaving no issue.
Lillian's parents were Albert 1854-1922 and Mary born 1847. Mary was born in Somerset.
Albert's father was called Thomas and mother Harriet.
There is a sea captain in this equation called Lunnon and the relationship to Michael Powell is here somewhere!!
Best Wishes,
Patricia
