Easington Lane

Hi all
can anyone get me a photo of my Grand fathers grave.  He died in 1932 and will be burried in the lane cemetery.  His name is Patrick Riley 1891-1932, he was Roman Catholic if that helps.

Today I had a wander round Easington Lane cemetery as you requested.  It's not a big place at all - perhaps 30 minutes to get round the lot.
However, I didn't see Patrick's grave.

Although there were several old gravestones, the vast majority are post WWII, so I wonder if there'd been an earlier cemetery in another location.

A few headstones had been tipped on to their face, so clearly I couldn't check these ones.

Frank I thank you very much, given how cold it is here in Berkshire it must be Freezing up there. 
I have not been to the Lane since I was about 10 years old (50 yrs ago.......my how time flies) so my memory or knowledge of another Graveyard is, well, non existant.  I have a map of the Lane dated 1896 and it shows the cemetery as being in Murton Lane?
A question though, are there any graves at St Micheals RC Church?

(Just checking my A-Z) - yes it's in Murton Lane, Peter.

I've no idea whether or not there are graves at St Michaels (Houghton, I presume) - I'll check that one out.  Give me a few days...

Actually the weather hasn't been too bad today. It's turning cold now though  :(

Hi, ST Michaels church is in Easinton Lane, a different place to St Michaels church in Houghton (2 miles apart). There are only a few headstones left at the front of Easington Lane church, so if your relative is buried here and has a headstone he will be buried in Murton Lane for sure   :)

I am going to Durham record office in march would you like me to look up the cemetry records for you as there is a chance he cold be in south hetton cemetery also

He was born 1891 in Brandon and Died in Hougton Le Spring (RD) in 1932.  As I said he was Roman Catholic, not sure if that will make a difference.
