Hi,
Not too much to go on. I have found silk weavers in Kilbarchan and in Govan, and I would expect there to be some places on the east coast where silk weaving was carried on.
If you haven't tried already, look at the OPR births and marriages for your folks. You will find them on Scotland's People website.
Only other possibility is to check where all the children were for all the census and if they were missing for any reason, try looking for them with grandparents in Scotland. Census info also at Scotland's People.
Good luck.
