I would love to hear from anyone tracing the name TREZISE

This is one of my husband's direct ancestors - would love to hear from anyone else. 

I've looked and it wasn't a common name - about 250 in all of England in 1881.  Not much more than that today.

Many of the Cornish men travelled to other Countries to find work, my Trezise connection is St Just Cornwall, deaths Navadaville,Colorado, USA....there are many Trezise families in the USA from Cornwall

Richard Trezise b1863 Kendijack, Cornwall- 1914 Gilpin, Colorado,  He was the second husband to Nannie Thomas b1858 Cornwall died 1934 Gilpin , Colorado.

He had a child to his first wife (don't know her name yet) Richard Trezise 1887 born Colorado, then John Thomas Trezise  3/12/1894 Colorado, from his second wife Nannie.

His parents were John Trezise 1822 and Elizabeth 1824 both from St Just, Cornwall...possibly Kendijack.
His siblings were:
John 1845  Elizabeth 1848, Amelia1853, William  1855, Thomas1858, Henry 1860.

I have Elizabeth Trezise, who was born about 1793 in Redruth, Cornwall.

She married Henry Baker of Morval, Cornwall. 

I have them in Liverpool in the 1841 census.  They raised their children in Cornwall.  I do not know where they married, if they went to Liverpool together or met and bonded in Liverpool because of a common background.  All of their children were born in Liverpool and the first one was in 1815 (so they moved before 1815, if the census is correct).

Someone else who has done more tracing than me in this line has Elizabeth's father as Nicholas Trezise (1765).

That's all I know at this point.

It doesn't sound like our lines are linked, but who knows?  Elizabeth's brother could have moved to St Just.  Do you have any more information?

I just checked and the transcriber made a mistake for the 1841 census.

The children born prior to 1822 were born in Cornwall and the children born after 1826 were born in Liverpool.  Knowing that ages were rounded quite a bit in the 1841 census, I would say they moved to Liverpool in the 1820s.

That's all I have on my Trezise relatives,  there are too many people with that surname and without years of birth, things could get very muddled.

I did look at the census for 1841, in the 1851 and 1861 ,it says that James was born in Pill, Somerset, he is still with his parents in Liverpool.  Are you sure all the children before him were born in Cornwall?

If you are  just looking for Trezise connections, perhaps it would be better to put a Look-up Request for the marriage of Henry Baker and Elizabeth Trezise.

I've just discovered this thread.
Elizabeth Trezise & Henry Baker are my 3x great grandparents. They were both born in Cornwall but moved to Bristol were they married at St Michael's Church in 1810. They moved to Liverpool around 1825. They had at least 11 children, 6 born in Bristol and 5 born in Liverpool.

Liverpool Town Hall's WW1 Roll of Honour has Lieut ET Baker, RFC among its 13000 names. No other information is given there.
I found him to be Eric Tresize Baker, died in France on 19/1/18 and remembered on the Arras Flying Services memorial.
His War Graves Commission entry gives him as:
    "Son of Thomas Trezise Baker and Ellen Susan Baker, of Orrel Park, Liverpool"[there should be two Ls], and his Squadron as 65.

I knew about Eric on the CWGC site, he is the great grandson of Henry Baker & Elizabeth Trezise, but I haven't heard of the Town Hall Roll of Honour. What does it consist of and how does one view it?
