George Griggs of Kent 1735?

Not sure what information you have about George and Elizabeth, but i was reasearching the Grigg line last year and some one sent me a booklet (not Fred s booklet) about the Griggs familiies.

It is a bit patchy but looking through it i found firstly a William Griggs who married a Mary Stroude on thee 7th April 1716 in Birchington they had a son called George Griggs who was baptised on thee 18th May 1835 in Birchington.

Then further on i found a George Griggs who married a Elizabeth Barlett on thee 4th November 1773 at St. Johns in Margate.  The children listed are

Elizabeth Griggs baptised 16 Oct 1774 at St. LAwrence, Ramsgate
William Griggs baptised 8th October 1775 at St. Lawrence Ramsgate
Ann Griggs baptised 5th OCtober 1777 at St. Lawrence, Ramsgate
Sarah Griggs baptised 25 Mar 1781 at St. Lawrence Ramsgate.
Mary Griggs baptised 10th August 1783 at St. Lawrence, Ramsgate

That's all there was, not sure if any of this is of any help or you have this information, but thought i would post it just in case.  Good Luck

That ties in exactly with the info I have, which I have personally checked at the Cantebury Archives but unfortunately I can't prove which George is the right one!

I think I may be able to help, I have done a lot of research on the Griggs family in Kent, and think I may be the author of what sheila was refereing to above.

All the George Griggs' I have found in Kent from 1700 to 1800 (ish).

1744, Birchington, Edward and Ann
1775, Elham, James and Elizabeth
1790, St Marys, Sandwich.
