Selena Rodgers 1891 census

Hello All

I am looking for Selina Rodgers in the 1891 census.  she was born c1873 and I believe that she was in the middlesbrough area.  Both her parents were dead so not sure who she was living with.  Thank you.

Where was she born? And are you sure she had not married by 1891?
There are a few possibles around
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

She was born in Staffordshire.  She died unmarried in 1896.

Most are described as daughters.

There is one, 16 yr old Selina Rogers, born Staffs, as a sister in law to Thomas and Susan Batt (Susan age 20)
Did your Selina have a sister called Susan who married a Mr Batt?

Is she the Selina ROGERS (this spelling) who died Middlesbrough Sep qtr 1896, aged 24? Who were her parents?

Hello

Yes Selina died in 1896.  Her parents were Matilda and Joseph.  Matilda died in 1876 and Joseph died in1887.  On Josephs death certificate he has a widow Maria.  Maria is also with him on the 1881 census but no marriage can be found and she seems to vanish after his death .  Could she be with Selina (Selena)

If Matilda was her mother then Selina appears to have been born in Tipton in 1871 - she appears as a 1-month old in the 1871 census: RG10/2996/49/36.

Yes they then moved to Thornaby where her father and eldest brother had found work.

No older dtr Susan on 1871, so my finding not looking so good
