where do I look now?
« on: Sunday 10 January 10 15:08 GMT (UK) »
I have a marriage for George Tomlinson to Sarah Constantine 15 June 1818 M/C Cathedral.
I also have a Christening for Sarah Constantine  8 June 1800 Father Thomas Constantine. But
I can't seem to find anything else about Sarah, can anyone help the IGI don't have any more info.
I seem to have no luck with the census eather. George Tomlinson was born in Harpurhey or Blackley.

Are you certain Sarah's father was Thomas???

SDo you have George and Sarah on the census at all??

Did they have children ???

I have found a possible brother for Sarah -or a possible different father.

Hi there

This is just a hunch, but I have these names in my own tree in the same area..

Have you tried searching for Sarah under suname of Consterdine?

I have Adam Consterdine of Blackley marrying Mary Tomlinson, Manchester Cathedral 4 Jan 1814 - they might be the same families

Suggest you try Lancashire OPC, they have some records for Blackley St Peters including many variations on the Consterdine/Constantine theme!

Hope that helps

Thanks for PM, Old Queen

there is a Sarah Tomlinson, widow, born Blackley 1800 on the 1851 census and later, living with her adult children in Hyde:

3 ?Port? St
Sarah Tomlinson, 41 b. Blackley housekeeper
Anne Swindells, daughter, 26 b. Blackley, power loom weaver
John Tomlinson, 16, b. Blackley, power loom weaver
Mary Tomlinson, 13
William ?Priest? 12 or 12 months, grandson, very hard to read this line
HO107/2154/589 Page 18

In 1841, also Port St, Hyde:
George Tomlinson,45, cotton weaver
Sarah Tomlinson, 40
Sarah Tomlinson 15 cotton weaver
Ann Tomlinson    15  cotton weaver
George Tomlinson 14  cotton weaver
John Tomlinson 6
Alice Tomlinson 2
none of them born in county (that is, Cheshire)
HO107/2154 Folio 589 Page 18

So you might be looking for George's death in Hyde between 1841 and 1851

Hope that helps
