Hello Gladys,

This could all be cooincidence BUT:- On the 1910 census for John and Isabella in Seattle Ward 3, King, Washington.
John Rees 40 John says he immigrated 1881 - probably 2 May 1881 on the HELVETIA
Isabella Rees 34
Mary A Rees 20
James Rees 30 Brother was born 1880 - a 6 month old James was on the HELVETIA same date. Also a passenger record for 10 Jan 1910 which could be James coming to visit. Mother Mrs Anna Rees of High Street. Newbridge. Monmouthshire
Arvil Rees 8 Nephew. This is a nephew born in Washington - should be Orvil
This is Orvil Rees 1930 in  Seattle, King, Washington.
Orvil W Rees 29  Truckdriver.
Susan Rees 27 Born Ohio
William Rees 55 Born 1875 Wales. Widow. Naturalized 1895. Engineer.
William Rees was also on the HELVETIA on 2 May 1881.
Also travelling 2 May 1881 were Anna aged 34 years. Jane aged 59 years and more children Rosanna Rees age 3 year. Isaac Rees aged 4 years. There is an Isaac Rees married to Bertha and with a son Harold in Washington 1900 that fits the bill for him.

Regards  ;D ;D

Sorry forgot to add there is a death for a James Rees in 1915 Seattle King. Washington 15 Nov 1915. Son of James Rees and Ann Thomas.
I think this is them in 1871 Mynyddislwyn, Monmouthshire, Wales.
James Rees 24 Coal-Miner from Mynddisllwyn
Ann Rees 24 Bedwelty
John Rees 1 Bedwelty

Also a death for Isabella Rees 8 Feb 1949 daughter of William Heron and Jane Dowey which could fit. Comes up under Isabelle Rees http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=recordimage;c=1454923;r=35677864;role=principal
A Mary Dowey - grandmother is staying with John and Isabella on 1900 census

Hello dettori28,  what a lovely surprise getting all of this info which i am over the moon with and that is them.   The death for Isabella Rees daur of William Heron and Jane Dowey, on the marriage i have for William Heron is Jane Henderson and on three birth certificates i have two has the father William Heron is right enough William Heron and mother Jane Dowey the other certificate has William Heron and Jane Henderson so am trying to figure out where the mother inlaw Mary Dowey comes in.  I got some census from rootschat a while ago with census and the Dowey name keeps appearing, must fit in some where.  I appreciate you sending the immigration and the 1871 census for John Rees and his parents name also the death for Isabella Rees and James Rees.  Its really great. :)  Thanks very much.  Regards Gladys. :)

Enjoyed looking for it all Gladys, filled a gloomy wet Saturday (thankfully, the snow has gone!)
PM me if you want any of the scans sent.

www.castlegarden.org - put the name Rees in and see the list that comes up for 2 May 1881.

pilot.familysearch.org had the death info and some census info I think.

Regards.

So Mary Henderson (unmarried) had a daughter Jane Henderson in Dec 1852 10b 61 Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Mary Henderson then married John Dowey in Dec 1863 Tynemouth 10 b 211
Jane Henderson married William Heron Sept 1871 Newcatle Upon Tyne 10b 141.  Isabella seems to be Jane's illegitmate daughter before she married William Heron. Isabella is with John and Mary Dowey on the 1871 census
So Jane Henderson on the census used her step-fathers name but was married under her correct birth name and alternated that name on the childrens birth certificates - hence the two names of Henderson and Dowey. Then the Dowey's emmigrated 1883.
So Mary Dowey on the 1900 census is the grandmother of Isabella.
I noticed on the SS Majestic  1st June 1898 Liverpool - arrives New York 8 June 1898. Grandmother was going to her son-in-law William Heron Roslyn. St Kittitas. Washington.   ;D ;D
