there's a possible listing of Joseph living with his mother,  twin sister, and possibly step-siblings on the census link mentioned earlier :

see :   3 Fair Green Lane - Naas , Kildare

You need to search through available records step by step to avoid tracing the wrong family. There are 8 births for "John Curtis" in Co. Kildare in 1930s/1940s so it's hard to say which one is your grandfather but since it's such a recent date please do not post any more details about him on this thread. If you know his mother's maiden name, the more recent entries list mother's maiden name which might help you find his birth registration.

Hi Rachel

Generally the best idea is to start by asking living members of your family to tell you everyting they know!  Then send them to find all their old papers - its cheaper and easier to use original certificates if they already have them.

Once you've been through all the old documents and written down everything they can tell you, you can come back with specific questions that we can help you with.

As the others have said, you need to give as much detail as possible to narrow down the possibilities and ensure that you're tracing the right family.

Is your dad still with us?  If so, he would be the first person to ask.  If not, let us know what you already know about him and we'll go from there.  You need to be more precise in your answers and we'll do what we can!

Kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

You said earlier "Maybe Jonh curtis my grandad" and then "my grandad was born in the 40's." which is why I mentioned 8 possible births for 'John Curtis' in 1930s/1940s.
As Arranroots said, you need to collect all the information you can from your family as it will save you lots of time and hard work checking what they might already have or know. It's also important to keep clear records from the start- the more information you get the more confusing it'll be for you without keeping track of everything from the beginning.
Perhaps you should sit down with a blank sheet of paper and write down anything you know, or think might be correct, and then see how much detail you have and what information you need to fill in gaps.

Hi Rachel.
If you look on the Curragh History forum you will see the same Sam McGuire Cup that Joe's team won in 1928. It's on one of the photo gallerys.
Also, you could ask your aunt Mary (Mrs Delmer) in Our Lady's place.

My grandad * Curtis was born on Sept 22nd 1945 and lived firstly in the well lane area and then in Our Lady's place. His siblings are Mick, Thomas, Joe, Essie, Mary. His mothers name was Christine and his father was Joseph, who are both decesed. As far as I no his father was born in 1901, and he won the Sam Maguire cup, for the Lilly Whites. Mol Curtis was his aunty, who was also born 1900's. I'll get back when I find out more information.
