;)hi everyone. my g.grandfather JOSHUA HEWITT was the Inn Keeper of the Royal Oak, down by the bridge over the river and right opposite the Church, way back in 1868 to 1872/3 he was also a farmer with 14 acres and his eldest
daughter Mary Ann married a local farmer William Pearson from Pothurgan not more than half a mile away.
One of my daughters visited the Inn about 2 years ago and she told me there
were photos on the wall in the bar of young children playing together with some photos of the Inn Keeper and they seemed to be taken a good while ago
and im wondering if they could be my great aunts and uncles, as Joshua and Elllen had 7 or 8 children at the time.
Is there anyone living in that area who could do me the honour of asking the present manager or owner of the Inn if he know just who the famaily are in the photo, maybe theres a name on the back of the photo.
When the eventually left and came back to Lancashire a few years later, another one of my g.aunts Margaret married and when they retired some years later, she went back to live in Bangor with her husband becaused she remembered the haappy days she had there in Bangor as a child, her name when she returned with her husband was Furness. Maybe someone living in the village would remember the name. Thanks a bundle TED
