MOTT- Westminster
« on: Tuesday 05 January 10 16:09 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help me to find out more about the MOTT faily who lived in London.

John MOTT was born in Sussex in 1790 and by 1841 he had moved to London (working for the Marquess of Salisbury at his London residence at Arlington Street, parish of St George, Westminster. His son was born in the same parish in 1829, yet I can't find either the son's birth (his name was also John and his mother was called Eliza) or the marriage of John and Eliza, which must have taken place in the 1820s.

After he was sacked from his position he remained in Westminster and in 1851 is living in James' Street in the parish of St Margaret. In 1871 his wife is described as a widow, living in Berwick Street, St George Hanover Square. I feel sure that his marriage, death and entry on the 1861 census (if he's still alive then) must all be in London- can anyone help me locate these details?

Thanks,

Vicki

What is the source of the fact that John junior was born in St George, if you have not found the birth (I guess you mean christening, as pre 1837)?
