Family History of Eccelfechan Family --Moore
« on: Sunday 03 January 10 03:48 GMT (UK) »
I am endeavouring to find out more information about the Moore Family of Eccelfechan.
I am particularly interested in:
1) Henry Muir (changed Name) 1856-1936
2) Thomas Moore, Born in Lancashire about 1830

Although any information would be welcome

My Great Grand Father was Thomas Moore(born in Lancashire) married Ann Jamieson in 1856. My grand father,  Henry, was born 1857,(he changed his name to Muir, after his marriage to Elizabeth McDonald)His siblings were Ann,!959, Jane Irving ,1861, Davis,1864, Thomas,1866, Catherine !867, and Isabella !873.
Understandably there was family discord directed at Henry, for the name change.
So details of the rest of the family are very sketchy.

DEar csc,

According to the 1881 Census,
Both Henry and his father lived in Bluebell court in Eccelfechan.
Also, Thomas Moore was in Eccelfechan in the 1901 Census.

From cousins I've been in touch with, they can trace the Muirs, but the Moores are missing
hence my inquires.
Does that help?
