I know this is not going to help but there is a VERNON BISSELL born 1866 living at 37 Wigan road, late 1910 to early 1912.Not sure what sort of a dwelling it is ?

One thing I did forget to mention is that William Bissell's name appears on the war memorial in Wigan, does this have any relevance as to where he was born or was it because he lived in Wigan.

Kevin

It would be because he lived there.

Hi again.  Could you just clarify which family you found on the 1901 census please?  There are several Bissell families within the Wigan area.  There is a brother and sister (James and Eliza) living at 306 Whelley in 1901 - this would be almost across the road from 5 Wigan Road. R.
Wests of West Wycombe.

Cork(e)s of Kent

Truemans of Liverpool
