Death Record - PEARSON

Looking for a death date for:

Edward Albert PEARSON
Born: 1895 Wandsworth
Father: Albert Edward Pearson

Note: on 1901 Census listed as Albert Pearson, seems given name and middle name often switched.

Medal Card indicates he was discharged from 3rd Royal West Surrey Regiment in 1919

1916 lived at 23 Ferrier Street, Wandsworth married my grandmother Ellen Gibb. Married at registers office. However in 1901 the Pearson family stated St. Faiths Parish.

My grandmother immigrated to Canada and remarried in 1922. Her marraige certificate indicates she was widowed at the time.

I cannot find a death record for Edward, hoping someone might offer a suggestion on how to find. Assume his death is between 1919 and 1922, in Surrey or Lambeth.

Hi Wendy,

You could try the www.1837online.com site.  You can look up the indexes up to the present day on this site, it is a pay per view site but doesn't cost too much. It shouldn't be too expensive as you only need to check a few years.

You wouldn't know what cemeteries he might be buried in or if parish records exist for the area?

Hi Wendy,

Sorry I don't know which cemeteries were in that area.  I imagine some parish records must have survived though I don't know where the Wandsworth records would be held. Probably in London rather than Surrey.  Sorry I can't help you with this information.

Thanks anyways I've been up and down the 1837 site for deaths between 1919-1922 and still can't find him. Beginning to wonder if he fell off face of earth

I still have been unable to find a death records for Albert Pearson.

He may or may not have died in WWI -- however his medal card does not indicate he died. Perhaps he died from injuries after returning home. I hired a researcher to check military death records but no luck there.

At present there is no easy online way of searching death registers post the date you are interested in

As you can see for deaths it peters out in the early 1930s when Albert would have been about 35. Other wise it is a trawl through the GRO quarters for each year and unless you have a rough date that is very time consuming.

Ancestry have now indexed the births and marriages post 1916 for the GRO index so presumably have plans for the deaths as well.
