looking for anyone who can help me with my ggg grandfather. thomas brown b approx 1796 in lanarkshire. died before 1851 was a saddler to trade, was married to jane mearns. I can't get any futher back than him help!!

Do you have him on 1841 census?
What were the names of his children in birth order?
When/where did his wife die?

yes i have him on the 1841 census living at 285 argyle street in glasgow, which is where his wife died 2/12/1862. the children are thomas b1831, mary b1833, james b1835, George b 1836, and Janet b 1839.

Scottish death certificates after 1854 almost always give details of a person's parents if you want to know more about Jane; they are available online at ScotlandsPeople for a small cost.
