Have you looked at the Queensland Resources at the top of the Board?

Are you looking for burials in the Catholic section of a cemetery?

Have you searched for your people of interest here
http://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/BCC:STANDARD::pc=PC_899

I have not seen a database for Catholic Cemeteries in Qld.

Hi,

Nudgee Cemetery would be the biggest Catholic Cemetery in Brisbane.  I don't know of any that are just Catholic Cemeteries except this one.  All other large cemeteries such as Toowong and Mt Gravatt have Catholic sections.  They should all be listed on the Brisbane City Council website cemetery search.

Are you looking for particular people or just general Catholic Burials?

Cheers

Thank you for replies. I had searched the sites on the board and found two gg/grandparents (Balmoral) and grandfather (Mt Gravatt). I am looking for my mother, her mother and her parents who all died in Brisbane. They are not listed on the council cemetery sites so thought there may be rc burial indexes (older ones rc's from Ireland). Will contact Nudgee cemetery. Thank you
Zane

Hello Roscow

There were Catholic Burials in the 'Paddington' Cemetery:  The Cemetery has since been 'removed' with the construction of a new Lang Park in the 1950s.

"Grave location search

Brisbane City Council maintains records of people interred in our facilities.

Unfortunately, not all records are complete because Council only gained full control of Brisbane's public cemeteries in July 1930.

Before that time, a number of trusts established under Queensland law managed these cemeteries. .

The records of burials are very limited.  I believe that a Great..Grand mother of mine [d1870] was one of those persons for whom there is no record.

Hello again Roscow

This well-researched site has a large number of cemeteries in SE/Qld. of all denominations -

http://www.chapelhill.homeip.net/FamilyHistory/Photos/

As well as Burials it includes photos of Headstones.

Hope it helps

the Lang Park stadium site, used as a burial ground between 1843 and 1875. It was Brisbane's first major cemetery after free settlement.
