Norah May Lawrence (nee Woodward) - Luton

I'm trying to find some info on my paternal great-grandmother Norah May Lawrence nee Woodward and her parents. I'm told she used to run a pub in Luton(or with her husband George A Lawrence); unsure which one of them was the licensee.

Norah May's parents were James William Woodward 1885 – 1955 and Florence Ethel 1881 – 1941 - I am told that they were also publicans. Is anyone able to find them in any licensing/parish records please? I've given up looking after the last few hours, I don't have access to that sort of thing unfortunately =(

Hi Steven, if you bought the marriage cert for Norah & george it would tell you their father's occupations. It might also tell you the name of the pub thge Woodwards ran if Norah was living at it at the time of her marriage.

the only couple that match up on 1911 census is james william woodward born 1880
and florence ethel woodward born 1881
they have a child norah may woodward born 1906 with them
they are living in shipston on stour,warwickshire

this might be a cert worth getting you would find out mothers maiden name
you could specify that only send the cert if the fathers name is james and the mothers name is florence
