look up needed please

           Can anyone help?need a look up, I am looking for the birth cert for John Shields parents Mary Lapping or McCann & Francis Shields, on the 1901 census for Buckhaven in Fife he is 26 yrs old and born Lanarkshire Glasgow, please help if you can, I've hit this massive brick wall.

Where did you get his parents names from as the 1881 census has no Francis Shields with a son John and a wife Mary

Do you have a copy of John's marriage cert confirming his parents names

There is a submitted entry for their marriage on the IGI so somebody else is researching this couple

Although the entry has Christina's parents - there is nothing for John's
