McLaren/McLeran/McLairen Confusion

John McLaren born 17 May 1730 Callander, parents Archibald and janet Drummond...can find no marriage for Archibald and Janet..but....have found children for Archibald McLeran and Janet Drummond on SP but still no marriage, am going around in circles here  IGI have a listing for Archibald McLairen and janet Drummond in 1727 but nothing on SP.

Are all these all one and the same.....Help Please am going crazy here

Maybe I should explain more fully... goes back to.

Margaret McLaren born 1811 Callander
parents according to death cert GRO374/00 0008 are Archibald McLaren and Helen McQueen.

Archibald born 1766 Callander parents John mcLaren and helen McQueen (yes another one)

Parents of John 1730 Callander OPR336/0010 0063 are Archibald McLaren and Janet Drummond.

Maybe I can't see the wood for the trees...excuse pun....

Back to basics - may have been haring up the wrong tree 
Can find no birth for a Margaret McLaren to Archibald and helen McQueen Aaaagh !!!
Going on the basis of naming pattern, margaret was married to Daniel Ferguson their children were
Daniel 1837 (after his father)
Jane 1839 (after her mother)
Marion 1842 (after his mother)
Archibald 1846 (after her father)
Margaret 1851 (after self)

Does this make sense ??

Therefore her parents would have been Archibald mcLaren and Jane ??

There is a birth in 1809 for  Margaret McLaren and Jean Stuart in Callander.

also in 1812 to Archibald and Margaret Stewart at Callander.

Wonder if death info was wrong and Helen McQueen was the grandmother of Margaret.

Should take my own advice and double/double/double check.

Who is the most recent ancestor in this line you are 100% sure of and what are their details? ie where and when born, married, name of spouse and children? Then I will try to help you ... but i am a wee bit confused by your posts above

Hi Jim Jam and Val - After all day sitting on computer and a fortune on SP pretty certain have now worked it out 

Margaret mcLaren 1811 Callander - birth not on SP but o.k. on IGI.
Married Donald/Daniel Ferguson 26 Jul 1835.
Census shows 1841 to 1871 they were in Port of Monteith.
1881 census in Logie and she died at Gogar Mains Logie 13 Feb 1882.

Parents Archibald McLaren 1766-1844 Callander.
Married Helen McQueen 1796 Callander.

Parents of Archibald -
John McLaren 1730 Callander.
married Helen McQueen 1759 Callander.

Parents of John -

Archibald McLaren 1710 Callander.
married Janet Drummond 1727 Callander.

Parents of Archibald - Archibald McLaren and Janet McNeil ...and that's as far back as I can go

1841 census Val - Donald is an inn keeper at the Graham Anie Inn POM. and 1851 he is a farmer at Rednock Mills employing his brothers-in-law John and James McLaren, so you were right JimJam in that last census.
