Philip PARTRIDGE - trial 2nd Jan 1838
« on: Sunday 27 December 09 23:56 GMT (UK) »
Hi Everyone,

I have just found details of my GGGG Grandfather being on trial in Buckinghamshire, and a death reference that is close to the trail date.  (on ancestry)

Here goes :

TRIAL DETAILS
Philip Partridge : born 1797 : age 41 : trial date 02 Jan 1838 : Buckinghamshire : Imprisioned : Ref HO 27 55 32

DEATH REF
Philip Partridge : MAR 1838 AYLESBURY 6 274   (I know there was a gaol in Aylesbury)

IGI INFO
Philip James Partridge : born 01.05.1798 : baptised 13.05.1798 : Newport Pagnell, Bucks : parents Mary (formerly Abelthorp) and John Partridge

IGI INFO
Charlotte Partridge : born 22.02.1828 Sheriton : baptised 21.04.1828 Newport Pagnell : parents Philip and Mary Partridge

CENSUS 1841 : H107/58/8/5/5
two children in the Newport Pagnell Workhouse
Charlotte Partridge aged 14 and Philip Partridge aged 8

I have not been able to find any information on the wife Mary Partridge.

I have found a bit of information about the children.  Charlotte is my GGG Grandmother, she married William Robinson on 21.08.1848 and had 3 children, (Mary Ann 1850 : Charles William 1851 : John George 1853) .  John George was my GG Grandfather was born in the Newport Pagnell Workhouse on 30.04.1853.

I would be very grateful if anyone could find out what crime Philip Partridge comitted and if he was imprisoned and or executed.

Many thanks

Mandy

Hi

Can't find an entry for his wife in 1841 - I wonder did she die pre-1837 as there is no death on freebmd prior to 1841

Hi Carole,

Thank you so much for taking the time to look for me, it is much appreicated.

When I saw the death entry so close to the trail date, and the children being in the workhouse I thought he had murdered the wife, and he was found guilty and then executed.

I think my imagination is running away with me.    :D
