If there are 6 children listed in baptismal records then the logical thing to do would be to check the church records.

I can't do that as I live in the UK.

I was a bit surprised she didn't tell me who the others were but as I was just asking about Michael that's the information I got.

Then you should contact her and say you are interested in the rest of the family.

Thomas Callaghan married Ellen Melia on 25 July 1867 in Oristown, Meath.  Would that be the bride's parish?

Oristown is a town and RC parish just to the North-west of Navan parish.

Usually marriages took place in the bride's parish.

Thanks :D

Do you know of a good site where I can find out about Navan?  Michael was living in Butterstream at the time of his marriage.  I love that name :D

Google maps showing Navan to Oristown

The only place I can see at the moment named Butterstream is in Co. Kildare and near to Clane.  There could be several places with the same name. The townland database (www.thecore.com/seanruad) is down at the moment.. might be worth another look when comes back online.

a few links on the history of Navan :

 www.e-navan.com
 askaboutireland Navan/Slane

if you google history of navan you get lots of results..
