I am looking at a Trooper of the Royal Dragoons who was killed 23rd Sept 1944.
http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=2765773It is possible, as he was buried at Uden cemetery, that he died in the liberation of the town, and that possibly he was 1st The Royal Dragoons, but i dont know much about the mechanized troops or liberation of Holland.
It looks like there is a connection with Market Garden.
I've done a little bit on google but the info available isnt particularily illuminating.
Any pointers most helpful, and if anyone has a knowledge of the Royal Dragoons I would be grateful for a little help.
The lad was due to inherit a fortune on his 21st birthday (millions in modern money) but he didnt make it, poor bugger. The money went to the school, church and hospital instead.
He was the end of his family line and is un-mourned, I know its just another tragedy within millions, but thought I would document his story.
Regards
Pete
