And we got the elephants over the Alps too  :D
Found Atlantis just before it was lost   ;D
Beat Germany in a football match since 1966  :D
but sadly never got the last word in with the Mrs :'(

Don't forget to take a spade/pole to dig down as some of them headstones are well covered.

Thanks very much for the replies and advice.

We don't need skis in Australia, we need rain!
'It's so hot here that the birds are using pot holders (oven gloves) to take the worms out of the ground.

Hey GB, just been listening to Radio Manchester and there is a bloke who is leaving to climb mount Everest, but is stuck at the moment and can't get out of Ramsbottom. Better not ask him to take any grave photos in Phillips park then  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi MIDGKY, it really is bad in Rammy, there must be thousands of people up The Rake and Tanners who are on the verge of starvation. Everywhere is a sheet of ice under snow--- very treacherous and of course it`s all hills-- big uns. Bury Council swear they have gritted but little or no evidence of it  on the main roads and of course  the side roads are dreadful. The car park at Tesco is very dangerous, again a sheet of ice.Ordinary salt seems to have little or no effect when you sprinkle it on paths etc. I`m worried about my neighbours whom I normally shop for but this time I am the invalid and can`t do it for them and they certainly can`t do it for me. Thank goodness for young healthy grandchildren( I knew they would come in for something)Been baking bread today- no delivery at the baker`s( they don`t bake on the premises anymore). First attempt very heavy, second much better but still room for improvement. Will try again tomorrow. In the meantime the R.S.P.B. are trying to find out who is being cruel to the birds by feeding them VERY heavy bread.Happy New Year everyone. Viktoria.

I remember the 'Rammy' buses, when Florrie was the conductress, and her husband[whose name escapes me, may have been Jim] used to get the buses through, no matter what!
They never left anyone at a bus stop. ;D
I'm talking mid 70s here.
Sorry, off topic here :-[
