Evers family in West Derby 1850 onwards
« on: Sunday 13 December 09 20:40 GMT (UK) »
Hello all, ;)
I was just wondering if anyone had some good links for searching for burial's in the Liverpool area?
My great grand parents x3 and a lot of family since are buried in the area, I don't live that close so cannot spend any time physically going around the churches to find out.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any site's that allow you to see where/which graveyard's they have been interred in. They seem to have been based in the area since the 1850's (coming originally from Ireland) and married in the Catholic churches of St. Joseph's Blundellsands and St. Peter's Seel street.
They seem to have stayed local to the West Derby area so I think they will be somewhere close...... :-\
again not sure of the area or what churches are local and there are alot of churches in Liverpool. :D
Thank you all for your time
Chris :-*

Hi,

There are a few websites to try on this link.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hibernia/bur.htm

I have had a very quick look but I haven't seen any Evers yet.

Also had a quick look on Lancashire Online Parish Clerks:-

Burial: 20 Sep 1805 St Chad, Rochdale, Lancashire, England
Michael Evers -
    Occupation: Cordwainer
Notes: (an Irish man) had been in Rochdale about 10 days
Register: Burials 1805 from the Bishop's Transcripts, Page 9, Entry 27
    Source: LDS Film 1545791

www.lan-opc.org.uk

Its earlier than you are looking for but I noticed it because he was an  Irishman who had only been in Rochdale for about 10 days  :-\.  Thought it was worth a mention.

For location I suspect it wouldn't be Toxteth Park but you could try.

http://liverpool-ancestors.co.uk/ Anfield is a possibility

http://www.stjamescemetery.co.uk/ again unlikely for location

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~liverpoolindexes/navigation.html

http://freepages.misc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ormandy/ unlikely to be Allerton

http://www.old-merseytimes.co.uk/  This is a great one to search online but there are many many links.

I checked Gibsons MI's but the only Evers said "see Dear" and that was for a Jane Evers Dear burial on 14-10-1853 age 3 in St James Cemetery.  "Sacred to the memory of Jane Evers second daughter of John and Ann Dear who died 14th October, 1853 age 3 years and 6 months.

There's a list of dates the cemeteries opened http://liverpool-ancestors.co.uk/cemeteryrecs.htm St Mary's Kirkdale is also a thought, but I don't think you'd find them online.
