Hi Tati. No, my Edward did not come to Wales until about 1906, some say under a cloud which is maybe why he used the name Lawton Murray for a while. His wife was heavily preganant when they married (nothing new in that I suppose) but they immediately went to live in the Wrexham area although their first child was born in Wolverhampton, John Alfred who survied until 1929. Theie second son, Edward was also born in Wolverhampton in 1908 even though their home was in Southsea in the Wrexham area. He died in 1909 in Wrexham. Edward and phoebe lived at the same address until 1913.
I just looked back at my records and it maybe that he was called Lawton Edward Murray after his move. I remember thinking at the time that the entry in the electoral rolls was not very clear. In 1911 he was Edward Murray but his wife's name is down as Ellen, not Phoebe. I know he called her Phoebe as I remember his recollections of her were fond She died in 1933. His son, William died 2 weeks later and it is said his hair went white overnight.
