Cecilia A Taylor was still on the WA census in 1954. No idea if they had any children though.

The George (son) you have married Agnes so perhaps these two are from a different George andMary Ann Taylor???

Please advise if you think these are not connected.

Thelma

Hi Thelma,

I think you will find these are the children of George TAYLOR and Mary LYSAGHT so suspect the directory entry is them also. (Railway Terrace) Trouble with such common names

George 16 Jan 1886 Brompton

William Augustin 8 Oct 1890 Hindmarsh

and others born in the area

Cheers Kris  :)

They married in 1880, aged 24 - his father Alfred. In 1898, aged 40 he married her sister Jane.

I did have his death as George (Agnes husband) till I noted he was 10 years too old.  ;)

Hello
Have just come across these posts for Taylor and Richardson as I am helping my husband with research into his Taylor Family.
His grandfather was George Taylor born 6th May 1892 in Hindmarsh South Australia, son of George Taylor and Agnes McGregor.
George Taylor my husband's grandfather married Louisa Bertha (Gertrude) Tannebring on the 6th April 1914 in South Australia.  Their son Kenneth Frank Taylor was my husband's father!

The George and Mary Ann who migrated on the Hesperus with their children, who were wool cleaners and weavers as shown in the English Census documents of 1861 and 1871 are NOT the parents of Fred...they lived in Birmingham according to the 1871 Census with Fred aged 3 and two lodgers.

I am seeking more information about George and Mary Ann, parents of Alfred, Elizabeth, William and George.  Particularly George (Jr) who married Agnes McGregor and went on to have nine children (by my records!).
Many thanks.

Thank you for your post josee1.

I have Fred Taylor born 1881 Hindmarsh Adelaide South Australia to George and Mary Ann (nee RICHARDSON) Taylor - as shown on Fred's birth certificate which I have.

I agree George & Mary Ann who migrated on the Hesperus are not the parents of the Fred Taylor aged 3 in 1871 census at Birmingham - a bit before our Fred was born.

I have George & Mary Ann (nee Richardson) Taylor's marriage certificate and who their fathers were. I also have the census records for both families up to departure to Australia, showing the 4 children who were born in Yorkshire UK.

Many Thanks

Thank you  :)
That clarifies things a bit.  It is all very complicated... the repetition of names and crossover of dates has confused me no-end.
So I have George Taylor (1840-1910) son of Charles Taylor (1817-?) and Ann (1816-?) and Mary Ann Richardson (1838-1917) daughter of James Richardson (1812-?) and Hannah (1813-?).  Does that line up with what you have?
Of their children, I am most interested in George (1867-1941) and Agnes McGregor (1867-1930) and their children.  They would be my great, great grandparents.  So I really want to confirm that I have the right line of George Taylors.
Any information you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Josee

Hello Josee
My husband's grandfather was George Taylor born 1892 in South Australia, he was George Taylor and Agnes McGregor's son.  He was the 3rd of the nine children and died in 1951 in South Australia.
