Hi Lynne,
Just checked the graveyard register for Rivington Church for you. There is the 'burial' register and a 'graveyard' register. The graveyard register is split into plots, who owned the plot, who's buried there etc and can often give more info than the burial register.
So, with John and Mary Bane (see post above) we can confirm they lived at Gills and here are the others buried, but have no mention on the stone:
Nancy Bane 1st May 1797 (this would be the interred date)
Mary Bane 1st May 1797
Jane Bane 6th April 1798
Peggy Bane 17th Sept 1802 Aged 18
Isaac Bane 14th Jan 1802 Aged 10
Buried with Isaac and Alice in the next plot are:
Abraham son of John Bane 20th Jan 1803 Aged 2
Alice daughter of John Bane 27th Jan 1803 Aged 6 months
Jacob son of John Bane 10th May 1811
John son of John Bane 13th Feb 1814 Aged 1
Alice dau of John Bane 11th Jun 1839 Aged 25
James Bain 15th Mar 1846 Aged 1 and two thirds (No mention of parents for children below, probably grandchildren of John and Mary)
Esther Bain 25th Jun 1849 Aged 5 and half months
Isaac Bain 14th Jul 1849 Aged 10
James Bain 12th Feb 1854 Aged 1 and one quarter Halliwell (this is the abode)
Eleanor Bain 4th Jun 1854 Aged 71 Halliwell
Eliz. Julia 5th Nov 1854 Aged 1 Halliwell
Next plot number 3.
Betty Bain dau of Abraham 23rd May 1844 Aged 9 and half months
Judith Bain wife of Jacob - Mar 1860 Aged 48(? bit illegible)
Alice Bain dau of Abraham 27th Jun 1865 Aged 23
John Bain of Halliwell 11th May 1866 Aged 83
Sarah Alice Bain of Witton 3rd Mar 1872 Aged 6 and half
Levina Bain of Witton 27th March 1872 No age
Phew! Didn't they cram them in? Clearly they are all related and the plots were bought by John and Mary, so assuming they are the 'head' of the family then the rest are children, grandchildren or possibly other close relations.
There are quite a few other Bains, so let me know if you want me to check other names.
Enjoy!
