Harker Street Skelton

 :)
Can any one help me and tell me whereabouts Harker Street is in relation to a modern map. Joseph Codd b1831 in Lincoln lived at 11 Harker Street in 1881. I must admit I am interested becaues in 1981 we moved to Back Lane Skelton and lived in what was a miners cottage Joseph is my husbands relation and he was an ironstone miner. We used to walk down the road to where the ld mines were without ever knowing we were possibly following the route of an ancestor. We nolonger live in Skelton but I must admit I did like the community spirit when we were there unlike now.

regards
Helene

Hello

Harker Street ran parallel with, what is now called, Cleveland View off Thompson’s Road.

On http://www.old-maps.co.uk/indexmappage2.aspx ....

.... enter coordinates 465500 518100 and hit “GO”

.... scroll down (then scroll right) and select the 1938 - Yorkshire 1:10,560 map

.... then use the zoom facility on the left hand side to reveal Harker Street
