Hi I'm new here having found this site through a search.

Ann Holderness (b. 1836 in Ewerby) is one of my maternal great grandmothers. She was married to Francis William Ream in 1835 in Kirkby le Thorpe. they had 6 children of whom John is my grandfather. Francis Ream died in a work related accident in September 1873 in Scopwick. Ann later married a farmer Robert Elkington and as far as I know they lived in Burtoft, where they had a daughter.

As a matter of coincidence I was born and brought up in the Holderness part of East Yorkshire.

Lots of information for me in this thread.

I don't know if this information is useful but on Great Gonerby Parish Records on Reel 884 Section 1/2 on microfilm in Gratham Libray I found the following 3 baptisms for the Wilcock family.

14th June 1761 Ann daughter of Luke & Mary Wilcock

17th Jan 1762 John son of William & Mary Wilcock.

15th May 1763.Elizabeth daughter of Luke & Mary Wilcock.

Plus a marriage.Reel 884 Section 1/5.

18th May 1755  Luke Wilcock of this parish & Mary Hunt of the parish of Manthorpe.

Better late than never - My great uncle researched the family history of Holderness of South West Lincolnshire and it includes the Matthew Holderness of Horbling who married Ann Wilcock in 1786. Matthew's father, Richard Holderness, married Frances Buckbury (Buckberry) in Billingsborough in 1757. Richard's father was a Matthew Holderness of Horbling, born in 1698, who married firstly in 1723, Ann Ridley; then, in 1729 he married Mary Lion of Horbling. He was able to follow the Holderness line back to a Richard Holderness of Corby, born about 1483. That Richard was my oldest traceable ancestor
