Armstrong Mercer Co Kentucky
« on: Wednesday 09 December 09 18:42 GMT (UK) »
Hello All,
I'm looking for the birth date/place & death date/place of the following:

William Armstrong who wed Susanna Blythe on 1st Oct 1724 in
Kirkandrews-On-Esk, Cumbria, England.  Norma Cansler mentions them in her book 'Armstrongs of the Catawba'.
They arrived in Mercer County, KY by 1742, & two of their sons were buried there, so I'm guessing William (the father) was, too. He is mentioned in a book featuring 'Scotch-Irish' (sic) families, & some say he was born in Langholm, Dumfriesshire, Scotland in 1703. Later generations were Presbyterians, so assume William was, too.

Any proof that William WAS from Scotland would be extremely useful.
Cheers
Bob
