Anyone know what would have been the catholic parish church in Cork Street in 1874. You can guess I am looking for baptism records. Thank you in anticipation

from Thom's 1877 :

Street name : Cork street
Location : from Ardee St to Dolphin's Barn Lane
Civil Parish :    St. Catherine

I suspect that in this case the RC parish is also St. Catherine's. The parish church is on St. Catherine's Lane off Thomas St, which is quite close to Cork St - see google map : http://www.rootschat.com/links/07m3/

for info on the church & parish see :

St. Catherine's details on plantetware

Wikipedia article on St. Catherine's, Dublin

Note: this is the Church of Ireland, Ct. Catherine's, see later posts for link for details on the RC church

Shane, the present RC parish church of St. Catherine is in Meath St.,it's an old church but couldn't say when it was built,so unsure of how far back the records stretch.

thanks for correction  deccam, I got that one wrong - the St. Catherine's on Thomas St was Church of Ireland, and the RC St. Catherines's is the church in nearby Meath st. .. so even closer to Cork St.

If anyone should want to access images or info' online about the meath street church the actual name is Saint Catherine of Alexandria.

St.Catherine R.C. parish records seem to date back to about 1740 . Wright's guide states that the original chapel formerly stood in Bridgefoot Street but being delapidated about a subscription was raised among the parishioners for the erectgion of the present chapel.
