Thanks Aghadowey,

I noted the marriage of Christopher Eaton & Hannah Huston on 29 November 1838 in 2nd Dunboe Presbyterian Church.

Probably doesn't give parents names?

Early Presbyterian marriages rarely give anything other than date and names of bride and groom (occasionally witnesses) but I haven't looked at 2nd Dunboe records for Eatons.

Just noticed that Rev TH Mullin in his book Families of Ballyrashane has pedigree of Eatons of Articrunnagh [page 81]

He has Robert John Eaton as a son of Thomas Eaton of Arverness, Macosquin: Robert John Eaton married and had issue:
A. A son died
B. Maggie, unmarried
C. Ellen, married Robert Hemphill, uncle of Rev WJ Hemphill
D. Annabella [Mrs White]
E. Sarah [Canada]
F. Mary Letitia [Canada]

Mullin's tree shows that Robert John Eaton had a brother Richard married 1887 Sarah Johnston, dau of Wm and another brother James Eaton of Ballysally.

I know there are mistakes in Mullin's pedigrees - should the
Thomas mentioned as the primogenitor be Christopher or is Mullin's pedigree mixed up?

This is a comment (belated, admittedly) to a post by Gortinanima on 04 Dec 2009......
Regarding Thomas Eaton ~ he is listed as the father of Robert John Eaton on RJE's marriage registration certificate.
Regarding Robert John Eaton's issue ~ Sarah did NOT emigrate to Canada, but rather to the U.S. (Philadelphia) ~ she was my grandmother.  Her sisters, Mary Letitia and Martha (not included by Mullin) also emigrated to Philadelphia ~ they were my great aunts.

Dr. Mullin gathered lots of family information from the local families and it sounds as though someone told him the daughters went to Canada rather than the U.S.

Thank you for the very quick response, Aghadowey ~ very encouraging.  What you said about how Mullin gathered information makes perfect sense.  Interestingly, on Robert John Eaton's Marriage Registration, Thomas' name was spelled "Eatton."  If Mullin has anything to say about Thomas, I'd be very interested as I've hit the proverbial brick wall where he is concerned.
