Hi! I hope you folks are still here somewhere! I've just unearthed relatives from Portindrain, and I've seen the website with the 1841 census but it seems my family moved away before that, and in fact we definitely have relatives in common here!

My GG Grandmother, Mary McVean born Renton 1849, her father was Robert McVean, born Portindrain 1818, his father was Hugh McVean born Strachur (Cuinleach?) c1786.  I still need to dig deeper into Hugh and his wife Susanna Sinclair. They married October 1811 in Strathlachlan and had 6 children.

I'm still at the preliminary investigation / pencil scribbling stage for Hugh's generation but was hoping you'd be up for sharing info. I'm signed up to findmypast but also using Scotland's People. I'm only too happy to share everything I've found, and since I live in Clydebank I'm desperate to go and explore the old stomping grounds myself as soon as possible!
