http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/lac-bac/search-recherche/anc.php?Language=engFrom this link you can search the 1881 and 1891 Canadian census. In Artemesia Township, Grey County enumerated under McKenzie Duncan with wife Susan and children George, Joseph, Leona and stepson John Sloan.
John McKenzie Duncan s/o John and Eliza Duncan married Susan Sloan d/o Campbell and Lucy Turner married Sept 25, 1888 in Artemesia Township. One witness was Joseph Duncan. At John McKenzie's marriage to Isabella one of the witnesses was J.H. Duncan.
There is a death for John McKenzie Duncan showing birth of Oct 7, 1862 Artemesia and death Nov 12, 1909 at 47 years, 1 month 5 days. His parents were given as John Duncan b. Ireland and Christian name left blank McKenzie b. Canada. Frank W. Duncan of Flesherton was the informant.
There is a birth of Frank Willford Duncan to John McKendrie Duncan and Susan Turner 20 July 1891.
There is also a Susan Duncan (Turner) buried in Flesherton cemetery.
Finding official proof of birth in the 1860s is difficult. Sometimes you can find baptismal transcriptions online but they are hit and miss for areas of Ontario. Perhaps the death record would help to tie the 1881 census record into your research. I wouldn't be concerned about the year of birth discrepancy on census records as they can be off by a decade sometimes.
