I want to find William GRAHAM.
Born September 2nd, 1901 Kenora Ontario s/o Thomas GRAHAM and Alice Jane GRAHAM.
Last we heard was from Alice Janes' obituary (Alice Jane died in 1944 in Kenora, Ontario.
The obit was from the Kenora paper).
In the obit it mentioned Wiliam GRAHAM was in Edmonton, Alberta (1944).
Since then I have been told that Williams' step-brother was also in Alberta.
Williams' step-brother was Thomas G. GRAHAM born April 19th, 1884 in Northumberland/Durham, England; his mother was Sarah WATSON.
On the internet I have seen reference to Thomas G. GRAHAM death marker in Cadomin, Alberta.
Checking further I see a few William GRAHAMs there as well. Not all show their birthyear.
I am suspecting Cadmonin, Alberta is the place. I am only saying this as a lead, not as proof.
I think if I find one there, I may find the two of them there. Only a thought.
Alberta death registrations cost alot and are not as detailed as other provinces death registrations for that time period.
William GRAHAM born September 2nd, 1901; Thomas G. Graham born April 19th, 1884.
Help would be much appreciated,thanks,
Razzy

Hi Razzy!
I checked the obituary of Thomas Graham in the Calgary Herald in April 1968.
Thomas Graham, age 84, born Carlyle England, came to Didsbury 1904.
No mention of who his parents were, or any mention of siblings.
Buried in Cremona.
Difficult to tell if he is who you are looking for or not.

With regard to William, there is an obituary in the Edmonton Journal of a William Graham in April 1962, who was 61 years of age. I haven't seen the obituary for this one yet, but it may be a lead.
Cheers!

Hi,
is this CeBe?
Thanks for the reply.
I have an alberta certificate of death #LD396612 or registration # 1968-08-004282
for Thomas GRAHAM male 84years date of death April 25th, 1968, widowed, usual residence Alberta.
And that is about it, no more information.
I do not know how to find this Thomas' wife who died previously.
My family had written down my Thomas' wifes' name but the paper seems to have been lost.
I think it was Muriel surname -B.
Apparently even if I had a registration of death from the province of Alberta no more significant information would be written.
This may be the same Thomas GRAHAM. However in the census' in England he is said to have been born in Winlaton, Durham, England as with most of his siblings.
I have not bought his birth certificate from the freebmd GRO site yet.

William GRAHAM also sounds interesting. I hope you may be able to find Williams' obituary.
Thanks,
Razzy

No, not CeBe, I am new here - just joined today!
Not new to research though, been at it for about 11 years.

I believe the certificate you had is for the Thomas Graham I have the obituary for.... except the paper states he passed April 24, 1968....

Printed in the Calgary Herald April 27, 1968 pg 38

April 24, Thomas Graham aged 84 years RR2 Carstairs, Mr. Graham was born in Carlyle, England and came to the Didsbury district in 1904.  Returned to Annan Scotland in 1909 and came back to Canada with his wife in 1910.  Settling in the Sunnyslope area for a short time then homesteaded in the Big Prairie district in 1911 where he has farmed since.  Survived by 3 sons, Maxwell - Cremona, George - Hamilton Ontario and Norman, Calgary 2 granddaughters. Predeceased by his wife Frances July 4, 1967.
Interment Cremona Cemetery.

Hope this helps!

yes that helps, I came across this Thomas and Francis in one of the canadian federal census' and wondered if this Thomas was mine, but now I know it is not. The census did say he immigrated in 1910 and had his wife Francis, also said he was from Scotland and at that time I was not sure where this Thomas was born as his step mother was born in scotland but his real mother was born in Cumberland and now I know my Thomas was born in Durham, although at a young age he lived in Northumberland and close to Newcastle upon tyne.
So I am still looking for my Thomas somewhere in Alberta.
I think I found him in Ontario in White River.
Family says he went to drumheller and another place working in a mine (in both places, I am not sure) that is why Cremona, a mining town, was interesting.

By the way,
welcome to Rootschat and thank you for helping already!

My computer just started working again today after five days not working, maybe my router(??)
I never knew if my William ever married.
Interred in field of honour, sounds like he was in one of the wars.
I do not recognize the two sisters named.
My William had four sisters, one of whom was my grandmother,
none had husbands with those surnames.
